“Things” change, when YOU change…

Parenting can be frustrating at times. Especially when your children aren’t doing what you ask them to do. Why are they doing the opposite of what you ask them to do? I pose the following question to you, are you asking them NOT to do _____________, but you’re doing ____________ all day everyday? There’s no judgment on my end, I totally get why you tell them NOT to do ______________. It’s because you’ve been doing “it” and you know about the repercussions of doing “it”, and you don’t want them to have to go through what you’re going through, hence your warning to them.

I’ve learned a LONG time ago that children do what you do, not what you say. Thereby causing lots of frustrations for both parent and child alike. You know what else I learned? Once I started bringing my words, thoughts and actions into alignment things changed. In other words, I stopped doing that “thing” I told my child NOT to do. He started paying close attention to how my behavior changed. He noticed my alignment and his attitude changed. I simply decided to become the change that I wanted to see in him.

If you would like to challenge yourself in this area, why not check out my new book, which will give you some ideas on how to start leading by example and becoming the change you want to see in your child?

Habits can be challenging to break, but the experience of seeing your child going down the same difficult road as you, which you KNOW is fraught with irresponsibility and shame can be even more challenging…

It’s never too late to make the choice to start living your best life! I’m pulling for you! See you next post!
